Where does the name come from?
The name "Bonezegei" holds a very personal meaning—it is a tribute to my first dog. When we first got him, he used to have dreams where his legs would twitch as if he were running. We liked to imagine that he was happily chasing after bones in his sleep. While he was dreaming, we would jokingly tell him to "dagan" (the word for "run"), which we playfully tweaked into "zegan," and eventually "zegei." We combined those two ideas—the bones he was dreaming about and the running (zegei)—into the unique word "Bonezegei."
Later, when we bought him a heavy-duty collar, we didn't know what to call it, so we naturally started referring to the collar itself as his "bonezegei." He was a strong dog, and we even had to modify the collar with extra material so it wouldn't break.
Our routine was to let him out early every morning before sunrise. Tragically, one morning he never came back. After searching everywhere, I eventually found him by the side of the road; he had been hit by a car. I recognized him immediately by that familiar "bonezegei" collar. I decided to name this entire coding and hardware project after it to keep his memory, and the story of his name, alive.
